Our history
A particularly long history…
A particularly long history…
Highland Spring has been 400 million years in the making. It just happens that we started bottling it in 1979.
The village of Blackford, nestled below our organic land in the Ochil Hills, Perthshire, has long had a reputation for its spring water. A few years ago, in 1503, King James IV of Scotland announced that the local beer, made with water drawn from the same land as Highland Spring, was to be his Coronation Ale. Fit for a king then – and now, you could say.
From the very beginning, we enjoyed a reputation with those in the know. But it was in 1993 that it really took off, when British Airways picked Highland Spring as their chosen water. Today, we’ve grown to be the leading UK bottled water brand.
Looking to the future, as long as it keeps raining on the Ochil Hills (the chances are high!), we'll do everything we can to bring you the purest Scottish spring water possible.
