Chris Hoy MBE, Scotland’s track-cycling ace and triple Olympic gold medallist, has signed a new sponsorship deal with Highland Spring, which will see him act as an ambassador for the iconic Scottish water brand.
The Scottish powerhouse is the latest world class sporting hero to join Team Highland Spring. Tennis superstars Andy and Jamie Murray, European Tour golfer Alistair Forsyth and former world snooker champion Stephen Hendry are among many other sporting stars who support the UK’s leading produced brand of bottled water.
The deal sees Highland Spring become the official bottled water supplier to Chris Hoy as he competes and trains around the world.
32 year-old Hoy’s trail-blazing feats, including his haul of four Olympic gold medals and 40 World Cup medals have already inspired thousands of school-kids to take up cycling. Hoy’s sponsorship by Highland Spring reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to forging stronger links between active sports and good hydration.
As the UK’s top selling kids’ bottled water, Highland Spring will be working with Chris to inspire and motivate youngsters to take up active sports like cycling as well as champion healthier drinking habits.
As a world-class athlete Hoy knows all about the importance of good hydration. He commented: “I’m proud to be representing Highland Spring. As an athlete, I know to perform at my best I must keep properly hydrated. Equally, it’s important that British kids are encouraged to drink water instead of sugary soft drinks.
As part of Team Highland Spring I’m really looking forward to helping get the message out that young or old, we should all be trying to be as active as we can, and cycling is a fun way of doing this and something the whole family can enjoy.”
Sally Stanley, marketing director, commented: “Chris Hoy epitomises dedication to sport in the best possible way. The combination of his natural talent, commitment, modesty and elite achievements is hard to beat and totally inspiring.
“He will be a fantastic brand ambassador for Highland Spring and we are thrilled to have his support as we continue to seek to encourage youngsters to take up active sports and hydrate properly.
